Paul has had a varied and interesting career as a community activist, educator, writer, business owner, publisher, & sustainability advocate.

Paul writes about and teaches a variety of topics, including: religion, equality and ecology, postmodern thought, and history.

Paul is often asked to write and/or teach about surviving the next economy through sustainable practices, particularly his interest in Freeganism. He also does this type of work as a consultant.

Paul is on the board of directors of an award-winning environmental organization he co-founded, Books for the Planet, and is founder of Quest Living, a sustainable publisher & book/music distributor. He is a faith columnist for the Kansas City Star, and write articles and columns for other print & online publications.

When he's not traveling, he can be found in the historic Westport area of Kansas City MO, where he resides with his partner Ellen, and pets Cody, RJ, and Archimedes.
