Kim Bui

P. Kim Bui is a blogger and journalist living in California. She grew up in Iowa and attended Iowa State University, graduating with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. While in Iowa State, she worked on the school’s award-winning student newspaper, the Iowa State Daily. She also pursued interests in music and minority affairs.

She has worked as a journalist at the Kansas City Star and San Luis Obispo Tribune, writing government and feature stories ranging from elections to fall fashion.

In 2006, she started blogging at All That & a, which grew into a general interest fashion, home design and life tips blog. In 2007, she joined b5media, writing Indie Style File (a blog focusing on independent designers) and later Chic By Nature (a eco-fashion blog).

While at the Tribune, she began working as a web producer, combining her love of social media and journalism. She led efforts into social media like Facebook and Twitter for the 40,000 circ. paper in addition to being a key member and community manager for the Tribune’s community site, MySLOCounty.

She now works as the Web Editor for The Loop 21, a journalism start-up focusing on economics and politics for minorities. She works on social media, content production and data visualization for the site.

When not staring at her Macbook, she enjoys yoga, mini-home improvement projects and cooking. She will also tell you her cat, Ally Ginsberg, is awesome.
