- About me
I got married young. I was 20. I think that qualifies as very young, actually. Getting married that young is dangerous. It was probably the most dangerous thing I had ever done. There are a lot of other things I did and thought and said when I was 20. As it turns out, getting married was the least destructive of them.
Expressed (sort of) mathematically:
In a competition of x between y and z where y = you, z = my wife, and x = anything requiring loveliness and/or endurance
z > y
I have an M.A. in English, I love to write, and I am slowly beginning to realize that I will probably spend the rest of my life in academia. I think this is a positive development. My other likely career path was probably in something that involved a lot more heavy lifting and exposure to the sun.
I know that there is probably little objective value contributed to our society by very high-profile college sports. This does not change the fact that I get so excited about Tennessee football and basketball that I need to take an extra baby aspirin every day during the season.
I prefer cool weather to warm weather, beer to pop, glasses to blindness, defense to offense, offensive to defensive, and blind optimism to blind pessimism.
