Jason's shared items

I submitted a 'success story' to the Google Reader team:
I thought I’d share my story of how I met my girlfriend thanks to Google Reader. I’ve been using Google Reader daily for almost four years now, checking out the latest posts on my favorite blogs and other miscellaneous feeds. One of the features Reader has is the ability to ‘like’ items and to see what people ‘liked’, including people whom you didn’t follow nor followed you. Lauren has also used Reader for quite some time and saw my name appear frequently on posts I ‘liked’ on various Atheist blogs. She clicked on my name, saw my profile and my public feed. She enjoyed my shared feed so she followed me and sent me an email. From then we’ve frequently exchanged messages on Gmail and Google Talk. After a few months of online conversations, I flew to Las Vegas to meet with her in person. We found out that we’re quite compatible and have a lot in common! She flew to Seattle to meet with me a couple more times before we established a relationship. We both still read Google Reader and keep in touch through Gmail and Google Talk.
To the Google Reader team, thank you so much for making such a robust feed reader that looks great and is easy to use! If it wasn’t for this application, Lauren and I probably wouldn’t have ever met! Very special thanks to the Gmail and Google Talk teams as well for allowing Lauren and I to keep in touch while we’re apart.
I’ve included a picture of us together at Kerry Park in Seattle. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/59188/IMG_3869.JPG
Keep up the great work!
