While we humans carry on with our daily lives down here on Earth, perhaps stuck in traffic or reading blogs, or just enjoying a Springtime stroll, a school-bus-sized spacecraft called Cassini continues to gather data and images for us - 1.4 billion kilometers (870 million miles) away. Over the past months, NASA's Cassini spacecraft has made several close flybys of Saturn's moons, caught the Sun's reflection glinting off a lake on Titan, and has brought us even more tantalizing images of ongoing cryovolcanism on Enceladus. Collected here are a handful of recent images from the Saturnian system. (30 photos total)

In orbit around Saturn, NASA's Cassini spacecraft captured this image of Saturn's moon Tethys with its prominent Odysseus Crater slipping behind Saturn's largest moon Titan. Tethys (1,062 km, or 660 mi across) is more than twice as far from Cassini than Titan (5,150 km, or 3,200 mi across). Tethys is 2.2 million km (1.4 million mi) from Cassini, where Titan is only about 1 million km (621,000 mi) away. This image was obtained with the a narrow-angle camera on November 26, 2009. Muziekdienst Spotify biedt in Nederland drie keuzes: gratis met reclame, of reclamevrij voor 5 euro of 10 euro per maand.

De streaming muzieksoftware Spotify is dinsdag in Nederland gestart en biedt nu een iets ander model dan voorheen. Er is keuze uit drie smaken. Spotify Open is een gratis versie met reclames, zowel banners als audioboodschappen tussen nummers. Gratis gebruikers kunnen echter in Nederland maar maximaal 20 uur per maand luisteren. Goed voor 300 liedjes, zegt Spotify. Spotify Open vervangt het oude Spotify Free, dat die limiet niet had.

Spotify Unlimited is een abonnementsvorm waarmee gebruikers voor 5 euro per maand onbeperkt en reclamevrij kunnen luisteren op hun computer. Spotify  Premium kost 10 euro per maand en biedt ook offline luisteren naar de eigen playlists en mobiele toegang. De audiokwaliteit van premium is ook beter: 320 kbps in plaats 160 kbps. Betalen gaat per creditcard of Paypal. Ons populairste online betaalmiddel, iDeal, gebruikt Spotify nog niet.

Om de lancering in Nederland te vieren biedt Spotify exclusief toegang tot de single Schouder aan Schouder van Guus Meeuwis en Marco Borsato. Spotifygebruikers kunnen daar nu al naar luisteren terwijl de single zelf pas vrijdag uitkomt.

Dinsdag verscheen ook de Spotify-app in de Nederlandse App Store en de Android Market. Er is ook een Symbian-client voor Nokia-toestellen. Spotify biedt sinds kort ook diverse sociale functies. Zo zijn Facebookvrienden aan het programma toe tevoegen en kan je liedjes via Twitter en Facebook delen. Ook de eigen muziekcollectie op de computer is af te spelen via Spotify. Wil je een los liedje toch opslaan als mp3-bestand, dan stuurt Spotify je via de Buy-knop naar downloadsite 7Digital.

De streamingmuziekdienst Spotify wil op 18 mei in Nederland van start gaan, hoewel er nog geen deal is met Buma/Stemra.

Using a collection of satellite-based observations, scientists and visualizers stitched together months of observations of the land surface, oceans, sea ice, and clouds into a seamless, true-color mosaic of every square kilometer of our planet. Much of the information contained in this image came from a single remote-sensing device-NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer, or MODIS.
