Human Rights Campaign

No, I am not gay.

Yes, I am classified as conservative.

AND, I strongly believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for everyone.

History is repeating itself. In the 1960's, "black" people fought for their rights. In the 21st century it's people with rainbows on their mind.

Equality is a basic tenet of our Constitution. Recently, California passed a law banning gay marriage. Protests against the law broke out all over America.

This short film shows the protest held in New Orleans.

Bounty on the Bayou

The event is called Bounty on the Bayou (a pirate theme), and was held on Halloween night, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. We expected to host about 100 children and their parents but received many more in Alcee Fortier Park on Esplanade Avenue with trick or treating on the adjacent streets of Grand Route Saint John (3200 & 3300 blocks), Mystery St. (3200 block), Vignaud St. (1500 block) & Ponce de Leon St. (3200 block).

All of the houses that were passing out treats along that route were marked with balloons and a pirate flag.

Bounty on the Bayou was a great way to enjoy Halloween and visit with neighbors!

People deal with stress in different ways. Some choose to drink their problems away.
That only makes things worse. Please don't drink and drive. CALL A CAB!
