- Bring the arcade home!Pros: Authentic feel & look, durable and fun to use
Cons: Price, size, bulky and time to master
What a great way to bring the arcade home to you. This stick is fully customizable like a controller and with certain characters will definitely give you an edge. It has turbo buttons to give you rapid fire light moves and the stick makes it easy to work.
There are some drawbacks to this, first, SIZE!!! This entire set up is as big as the PS3. There is no tilt function to make it more comfortable and it takes a lot of use to find a way to hold that is comfortable to you. If you hold it on your lap, it will heat up about the same as a laptop. I recommend you use it on a hard surface for best results. Second, the ball stick is standard for Japanese players, it takes some time to master, it would be better if it was outfitted with the Baseball bat stick that is standard for American players. Finally, the stick gives you a defined edge when using certain fighters (Shoryuken fighters) and a disadvantage with other fighters (Charge fighters); the super moves take lots of practice to master.
All in all, this is a great product if you can afford the price. I highly recommend this for anyone who grew up coughing up quarters the arcades of old!Read full review
- Great Joystick!Pros: This thing is built like a tank.
Cons: Will not play PS2 games on the PS3.
This joystick is absolutely gorgeous. It is a lot bigger than it looks and has a decent weight to it as well. The buttons are laid out so people can use either American or Japanese style button layouts which is a huge plus. The Sanwa-Denshi buttons and joystick are very responsive and if you wish, easy to swap out. You can easily change the art on this joystick as well giving it a more personal flavor. Matcatz went the extra mile to make this stick and redeeming themselves for YEARS of terrible products. They did a fantastic job and if you play any fighting games this needs to be your controller.Read full review
- Great fightstickPros: Easy to use. Both the stick and the buttons are very responsive.
I wanted to grab a fightstick for Super Street Fighter 4, and found a really good deal on this stick. It's very responsive, and has made specials, ultras, and combos much easier than they were on the regular controller. It's a great choice if you're looking for a quality stick to play fighting games seriously with. I'm not constantly yelling, "That's not what I put in" when my character takes off in the wrong move, and gets smoked for it. All-in-all, a good product, and I'm glad I bought it.Read full review
