  • Nice Notebook
    By TechGuy22 - April 6, 2010 - Office Depot
The dv6-2150us at $630 is a no brainer. I did my homework with cpu feeds and speeds and that's when I realized that the $500 notebook I 'wanted' was less than half the value of this one. The i3-330m CPU is 3x that of the $450 - $500 HPs and Toshibas. Graphics is faster, too.

The i3-330m chip is new as of Jan 2010 from Intel, and the new 'Intel HD Graphics chip' is actually beyond the 4500HD graphics processor in performance. Maybe this is not a hard-core gamer's machine, but that's not my purpose. My purpose is lots of rapid dynamic graphics updates on real-time data and my last computer could not handle that. When I coupled that with live audio feeds (think internet radio) then on my old machine I had a 'challenged' notebook.

Not gonna happen with this one.

This is a large notebook, but not a heavy one. Its '10-key keypad' may be appealing to you, but I'm not that in love with it. Still, the size is due to the large screen, not the keyboad - and I can dig this screen.

The Altec Lansing speakers do indeed sound nice (as I listen to Pandora here as installed in the HP Media software).

This computer is future-safe - upgradeable to 8GB (cannot imagine when I'll need that as Win 7 64-bit runs great with the 4GB included). But the eSata port (on top of huge HD) gives HD head room. This box has bluetooth, too, which not all have (regretably).

Note that the big internal hard drive is a fast 7200 rpm drive - normal notebook drives are 5400 rpm. So that's a performance boost, too. (As well as the fast memory.)

The keyboard is nice. I ordered off the web, then did in-store pickup. I was hoping for a decent keyboard and this one feels nice.

I have not yet experienced the battery life. Don't have a huge need for long battery life - more an 'about the house keyboard'. I'm sure the battery will get me through a DVD.

At list of $780, this might have been a tougher decision, but at $630, it's easy. Either way, it's miles better than the slightly cheaper HPs and Toshibas. A ... Read full review

    By Vaibhav Shah - March 30, 2010 - Staples
    Pros: Comfortable Keyboard; Quality Display

Cons: Short Battery Life; Heavy; Too Hot; Slow

Very Heavy and gets hot too fast. Screen is too wide. Best part is speaker and picture quality.
Overall, good performance. Read full review

  • Great computer for good price
    By Joe - July 30, 2010 - Staples
Pros: Quiet; Extra features; Quality Display; Fast; Great Look; Comfortable Keyboard; Lightweight; HP health test; Touch volume and wifi

Cons: Too Hot; Short Battery Life

First of all: the design and appearance of this laptop is the best. It has this silver technology design. Also included in this laptop is a lighted HP symbol that makes the user look like he or she has a top noch computer. Windows 7 is amazing on this computer. It comes with a webcam, 4 usb slots, HDMI, and some other slots. Another cool design of this laptop features a remote that can control movies being watched by a specific program. Also that remote can slide right into the side of the laptop. The edge you can see when it is in is black and does not match the chrome sides. Do not worry about that because it this laptops includes and interchangeable chrome insert the same size. There is an automatic update program called Health Analysis and this gives you tips about how to improve your computer's preformance.

There are two bad things that I had trouble with:
    1) The battery doesn't last that long. It might just be because I play computer games and online games usually, but I am always by an outlet so that is not a problem to me
    2) The exaust of the computer is somewhat small and gets hot quick. I looked at differnt brands of computers and their exaust goes across the whole back of the computer and the laptop that I am reviewing for only has a exaust size of about 1/4 of the back of the laptop.

Overall I would recommend to anyone wanting a great computer. Read full review
