  • Not a great purchase
    By IronSmith - September 18, 2013 - Newegg.com
    Pros: Look nice
    Quick
    Responsive customer service
    Quick RMA process
Price (got a great price, >95 per set)

    Cons: Lots of errors
Warranty is not transferable according to customer service

I build about 4-12 desktops per year, once or twice a year one of the new systems develops a problem, typically it turns out to be RAM if it isn't the customers fault (malware issues). I purchased this RAM for myself and had problems straight away, (thankfully my customers haven had to deal with these problems). I'm usually too busy to deal with the BSODs so I just ignore them 'till I have time to deal with them, it must have been 2 months after I built the system that I got around to testing the memory but I didn't have time to test the sticks individually, I knew from the memtest that at least the stick in A1 was bad so I did the RMA for the first 4 sticks. The replacements performed much better but I was still getting a BSOD about once a week. I've had some additional time over the last week so I've been testing the RAM stick by stick and every other stick is bad. Keep in mind this is AFTER an RMA already. I don't normally write these reviews unless I'm impressed or upset, today I'm upset. This should be a rare occurrence not a 50% chance on each stick which is what it is turning out to be. In fact at this rate, my chances of getting a set of 4 properly working dimms is about 12/100. I'll be asking for a refund on this purchase from Mushkin if I can and I'll be avoiding them for future memory purchases. Read full review

  • Works Great
    By InsaneNemesis - January 8, 2014 - Newegg.com
Pros: Product looks very good in my build, worked out of the box correctly. Added to that a lifetime warranty and made in the US probably the best bang for the buck as far as ram goes.

    Cons: None Read full review

  • The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
    By Nexis - April 21, 2012 - Newegg.com
Pros: Nice looking memory. Not to tall for my cpu cooler.

Cons: One stick did not work. DOA. More upset with Newegg's RMA dept becuase they would not send a replacement until this was returned. I have a $2k paperwieght beside my desk right now because I am waiting on the RMA/ replacement to come in. They say overnight shipping to send the new memory out but sent ground ups for the return, so at least a week wasted here.

I understand that no matter how much Quality control you have there are always going to be some DOA memory, so I am not upset with Mushkin and will continue to buy there products. I like the design of this memory and think that it will be solid, when and if i can ever get it into my new rig. Read full review
