Computer System Cooling from Other Brands
- Very good for the pricePros: Great price, pretty much no sound, keeps things cool, one size fits (almost) all
Cons: Very big, annoying to set up
I bought this the other day without realizing the size of it. The images provided by BestBuy don't do it any justice. This things is really big, almost to the point where it wont fit in my case. The size does have benefits though. It keeps things so much cooler, plus the larger fan helps with the cooling.
This thing is a pain in the butt to set up though. I've only replaced a backplate a few times, but this one seemed fairly annoying. The size of it also posed a bit of an issue. I had to shift some ram around so the heat spreaders weren't bumping into the heatsink.
Once it's installed, this thing works great. The fan is very quiet, and there was a pretty good temperature drop. I got about 20-30F lower when using this.
All in all this is a great product for the price. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants better temperatures.Read full review
- Must-have substitute for stock coolerPros: Great cooling performance, excellent price.
Cons: Poor instructions/documentation
I have installed this on two of my builds. In the first case, I replaced the stock cooler, and this lowered CPU temps by about 20 degrees. I would never build a system with the stock cooler even if you are not planning to overclock, when you can get this one for so cheap. The instructions are terrible, but it is not that hard to figure out and there are other instructions and video online.Read full review
- Excellent CPU cooler and for a great price!Pros: Price, cooling ability, comes with all the necessities.
Cons: Pretty bulky (don't be deceived by the picture), little hard to install (just watch videos on youtube))
Asus p7h57d-v evo
(running off intel iGPU)
WD caviar black 1tb
Stock intel cooler idle: 32C
Cooler master 212 plus: 23C
Stock intel cooler load: 65C
Cooler master 212 plus load: 48C
All temps were taken at the about the same ambient temp = 25-27C
I've read all the reviews and watched all the installation videos. I've learned of all the hype and.....its true! This cooler is awesome. Comes with all the parts you need to install: screws, thermal grease, and mounting brackets for pretty much all CPU's
For the price, you really can't go wrong! I really recommend this if you case can handle it. It takes up almost the whole horizontal length of my antec 300. Just be sure to measure before you buy. If it does fit, buy and buy it from Best Buy!
Also another thing to note is that the picture for this is misrepresented! The picture Best Buy has up is of the old model. It is actually the newer model that I received (RR-B10-212P-G1 ) and it comes with the plastic clips instead of metal clips to hold the fan.
It doesn't come with a second fan, but I highly doubt you would need one.Read full review
