  1. Used the application and it was good.

  2. When selecting a hotel, it would be nice to be able to sort them based on proximity to a specific location. I realize you can see this on the map, but the map does not show other information such as price. I found myself skimming through a long list of hotels in a nearby town. Not a huge deal but the interface used in the selection process could be improved.

  1. I have never had a bad hotel booking experience (domestic or international) with Expedia and appreciate all the photos and attributes provided.

  2. Traveled a lot, great prices. Once I picked a mistaken hotel checkin date and they kindly allowed me a last minute date change, by phone. Today I had to cancel a flight and website was having issues. I called (yes they can take very long to answer due to enormous queues) but they finally resolved the problem and cancelled what I wanted to. Will use again.

  3. I don't think I've ever seen such a poor level of service. I called Expedia to apply Reward points on my account, since they weren't properly applied after my previous purchases. I had all required info (i.e. Itinerary number, email confirmations) and all they had to do is to adjust my Reward points accordingly. To make a long story short, after 2 hours on the phone with 6 different reps and numerous repetitions of the same story I had to hang up.... I use Expedia for all my travel needs, but when it comes to customer service, they always disappoint. This unfortunately was not my first negative encounter with them.

  1. I have used Expedia many times over the last 15 years. It seems like this was the first site that began comparing various airlines/hotels etc to get you the best price and offer you the variety of travel time and location. I enjoy being able to sort by a variety of factors, choosing as many or as few as I want to get to the best option for ME. It stored my favorite travel locations and would send e mails when prices dropped for those areas. It saves my traveler information so I do not have to re-enter it each time. I have flown at least 10 times and booked half as many hotels from this site. I use it only about once a year but even as the newer sites emerge and technology changes I have continued to find that my satisfaction lies in Expedia. I can link rewards points through Citibank to this site, which is great, giving me a lot of bonus sites for my travel. It's an easy to understand and navigate site with great travel options and prices.

  2. I first used Expedia when planning a trip from Texas to Chicago after returning from living in China. All of my travel overseas had been self-researched, so I was excited about a travel website that did all of the work for me. At the time, it was a bit overwhelming trying to keep track of which airline was offering the best price because it seemed like they kept changing minute by minute every time I refreshed my browser. Again, Expedia was still relatively new at the time and I was definitely new to this type of website. I feel like Expedia was a pioneer in its field and has come along way since then. I have since used it for comparing hotels as well as rental car services. The website is easy to navigate and easy to understand. I feel that it offers competitive and up-to-date prices and information.

  3. Even if I sometimes prefer to get plane tickets at the airline website, I always start my search at The rewards program is amazing. One cheap flight + a few contest entries got me enough points for a free hotel night. The one thing that needs improvement is the fact that they have their own itinerary code, which would be fine if they also emailed the code the airline will be using so I wouldn't have to do lots of searching when it is time to print my boarding pass.

  1. I am not sure what is up with the Expedia web site. I booked my flight months in advance. I had a leaving and return date for a trip, when I started. I looked at the information but didn't catch that Expedia changed the date of my return to the same date as when I left. Only giving me 3:15 minutes of vacation time instead of 10 days. The cost to change, according to the airlnes, was 80% more than what was already paid!!! WHICH GOT EXPENSIVE QUICKLY!!! Very disappointed! Contacted Expedia and they had me contact the airline. No refund.

  2. Buyer Beware, Expedia will rip you off at any opportunity. They claim"guaranteed lowest price" which I later found out was applicable for 24 hours. I checked a flight and it was about $450, two days later I checked again and it was $760, so fearing it would go higher, I bought it. Then because Expedia continuously sends emails saying "lowest fares" to the destination I wanted, I checked again. It was back down to about $535, so I called American airline to ask if I could have the reduced amount. American was willing if I had bought it through them- but unfortunately had to refer me back to Expedia. Expedia wouldn't budge and I will never do business with them again.

  3. I looked for a hotel for an upcoming trip on and found one with good reviews for $101. I decided to book the room and clicked on the link to the page to pay for the room and enter my contact info. Then 30 seconds later I got an email thanking me for my reservation and confirming the charge of $197.35!!! (including an extra person charge of over $70 despite the fact that I was booking for 3 people to share a room and the page said the room accommodated 4 people!). So I called Expedia customer service and was told that I did not read the fine print of the terms and conditions which apparently reads that they can charge any amount they feel like which may or may not have any relationship to the price actually shown on their website 5 seconds earlier. Sure enough I looked up a few other hotels and clicked through the link; on the page where you confirm the reservation there is a tiny box on the upper right which on almost every hotel shows a price anywhere from $25-$90 more ...
