  3. I love the deals that you have, Specially on hotels. The information you give on the secret hot rates, such as location and trip advisor reviews gives me confidence on taking the chance.

  1. I rented a car in Detroit. Set it up several weeks in advance. Got three days for something like $54 total. Opted for $9 insurance per day so total about $81. Of course, they wouldn't have refunded had I missed the rental but I did get an upgrade accidentally because they did not have my size when I went to pick up the car. The vendor in this case was Alamo. Alamo offered me insurance at the desk which they said would have been better so you might just not buy insurance online but wait till you get to the desk, although it is about three times as expensive. I would use Hotwire again but it seems you have to book far in advance to get the good rates.

  2. I am sometimes sceptical about booking hotels online after frequently hearing horror stories of bookings not being confirmed and people being left stuck. A friend recommended using when me and my husband were going on our honeymoon. I arranged a hotel at Heathrow as well as our accommodation in Barcelona. The staff we very accommodating and even gave us a further discount due to the nature of the booking. I would advise anyone with a budget to use when looking for hotels.

  3. I'm sorry to hear others had a bad experience. However, I had a good experience with Hotwire. I saw a hotel that I wanted to stay at on their PC website. However, I saw that there was a coupon to use if you booked through their new app. I quickly downloaded it on my iPad and found the same hotel, got my $25 off. I booked 3 days at a hotel for about $100 total. The cheapest deal for this hotel was this much a night. There were also no deals on other hotels in the area and I was low on cash so needless to say I was thrilled.

  1. My experience using Hotwire was solely to research and ultimately book flights between Boston and Los Angeles. I usually prefer to fly on Jet Blue or Southwest, which require you to use their sites exclusively, but I also like to consider all the possibilities for prices and time spent traveling. Hotwire helped me to compare flights in terms of cost, non stop flights versus one stop, and layover between flights. It also allowed me to book one airline for arriving in L.A. and another airline for my return flight. Although there is a lot to consider when using this site, I found it to be very helpful and flexible.

  2. I used to book the vacation for my first anniversary. I wanted a hotel in a safe part of Los Angeles, without having to spend an arm and a leg. I also wanted to be close enough to the airport and site-seeing locations that I could drive to them without having to spend an entire day in the car. gave me dozens of options to choose from as well as overall star ratings and a map to show me where the hotel was within the Los Angeles region. There were also a lot of pictures of the hotel as well as reviews from other customers. I chose a hotel that was mediocre in all of its services, but extremely inexpensive in price. I knew that when I was booking and was content with my decision. The website didn't have any pretenses about that either. It didn't deceive me, making me think the hotel was any different or better than it actually was. I was honestly grateful that it gave me the information in a very straight-forward way.

  3. Many years ago, Hotwire used to be a GREAT place to look for deals. Back when there was only a handful or so of discount travel sites. Now that there are literally dozens out there, there is really nothing that sets Hotwire apart from all the competition. Just like any other site you can find hotels, flights, rental cars, vacation rental homes, package deals, etc. If you do a comparison, usually Hotwire is just as much or offers just as much of a discount if you compare across the board. You can sign up for alerts when a price drops you are watching, which is a nice feature, but that only helps if you aren't wanting to book within the next week or two. The site is simple to use and it is easy to narrow down exact options that you need. I do find that they seem to rate the hotels on their own, as I often see a difference in their ratings compared to other sites, which is odd. They also have a partnership with Groupon, which is a discount site you can purchase deals on. I haven't ...

  1. I have been purchasing airline tickets and renting cars with for 4 years. They are my first travel site I start with when looking for travel deals. I have never had any problems with tickets or rentals and I have been very satisfied every time.
