  1. Click the down arrow on the right-hand side of the search box.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the Add Accounts tab.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Select 'Twitter' as the account type you'd like to associate with the Quick Search Box.
  6. Enter your account name and password. Your password will be stored in the standard Apple keychain.
  7. Click Setup.

Once your account is set up, you can tweet by following these steps:

  1. Open the Quick Search Box.
  2. Enter the text you want to tweet. Don't forget Twitter's 140 character limit!
  3. Select the result offering a Google search for what you've entered.

Tips for faster tweeting

The option to do a Google search for the text you've entered doesn't always appear first in the Quick Search Box results. For that reason, you may prefer to use the following method to do a quick tweet:

  1. Open the Quick Search Box.
  2. Start by entering a space. (This tells the Quick Search Box to treat the text you enter as a text item rather than a search or a program name.)
  3. Enter the text you want to tweet.
  4. The default selected result should be a text item. Press Tab on your keyboard to see your possible actions.
  5. Select Send Twitter Status (or type 'tw' as a handy shortcut).
  6. Press Enter to send your tweet.
