Google Scholar Help

Guidelines

  1. The content hosted on your site must consist of scholarly articles. Content such as book reviews and editorials are not appropriate for Google Scholar.
  2. If your site uses a robots.txt file (e.g. www.yoursite.com/robots.txt), please add the following lines to it:

    User-agent: Googlebot
    Allow: /

  3. The use of Flash, Javascript, or form-based navigation makes it hard for our automated system to find, identify, and cite your articles. If your site uses these types of navigation, please create a simple site map with links to an individual file for each of your articles, and then include a link to the sitemap in your submission below. For assistance with creating a sitemap, please take a look at the instructions at our Webmaster Help Center.
  4. At this time, we are unable to effectively index articles that are divided into multiple files.
  5. To be included, your site should should make the text of articles freely available, or provide complete abstracts without login information. Bibliographical information without abstracts or full-text articles will not be crawled for inclusion.
  6. If your site is available to subscribers only, please contact us here to discuss the details of adding your content. Please note that an abstract (or more) of each work must be available to all non-subscribers who come from Google and Google Scholar.
