Contribute with Sidewiki: Sidewiki bookmarklet

With the Sidewiki bookmarklet, you can utilize Google Sidewiki on any browser, even if you don't have the Google Toolbar installed. The Sidewiki bookmarklet is a small piece of code stored as a bookmark. When you click the bookmark, it opens a new window where you can write a new Sidewiki entry or see entries that others have written for the page you're viewing. Certain Sidewiki features available in Google Toolbar, like the notification bar, are not available with the bookmarklet.

Trouble adding the bookmarklet?

If you use an older version of Internet Explorer, you may not be able to add the bookmarklet. Try installing Google Toolbar with Sidewiki instead.

If you're having problems dragging the bookmarklet to your bookmarks bar, try manually creating the bookmarklet.

  1. Manually create a bookmark in your browser.
  2. Copy the code in the box below and paste it into the URL (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome) or Location (Firefox) of your bookmark editor.

javascript:(function(){var a=window,b=document;if(b.body){var c=a.screenLeft||a.screenX;if(c>340)c-=349;else{var d=a.screen.availWidth,e=c+a.outerWidth;c=e>d-331&&c>d-e-9?0:e}a.open("","__SWBM__","location=1,resizable=1,menubar=0,scrollbars=1,status=0,toolbar=0,width=340,height="+((a.outerHeight||768)-58)+",top="+(a.screenTop||a.screenY)+",left="+Math.max(1,c));var f=b.createElement("script");f.src="http://www.google.com/sidewiki/bookmarklet.js?hl=en";b.body.appendChild(f)};})()
