What categories are used by Google News?

When you create a News Sitemap, you can optionally specify one or more keywords for each URL. We recommend that you specify the appropriate categories used by Google News. You can also specify other keywords if the article is relevant to topics not listed in our existing categories.

The categories currently used by Google News include:
