Content in iGoogle: Report trademark issues in a theme

Print

Through its iGoogle Themes API, Google provides an opportunity to create a customized theme to appear at the top of a user’s personalized homepage. Our Theme Program Policy allows use of a third party trademark solely for attribution and only in a specified attribution area.

As a courtesy to trademark owners, we are willing to perform a limited investigation of reasonable complaints. If you believe an iGoogle Theme contains a trademark infringement, please provide a written communication (by fax or regular mail - not by email) that sets forth the items specified below:

  1. Name of trademark owner.
  2. Contact information, including your name, address, telephone number and email address (and if you are not the trademark owner, your relationship to the trademark owner).
  3. List of trademark(s) at issue and the country/countries in which it is registered. If the trademark is registered, provide the country and registration number.
  4. The identity and location of the Theme at issue, including the Theme name and directory URL, if possible.
  5. Include the following statement: "I have a good faith belief that use of the trademarks described above in the Theme described above are not authorized by the trademark owner or its agent, nor is such use otherwise permissible under law."
  6. Include the following statement: "I represent that the information in this notification is true and correct and that I am authorized to act on behalf of the trademark owner."
  7. Your signature.
  8. Send the written communication to the following address:

    Google, Inc.
Attn: Google Legal Support, iGoogle Themes Trademark Complaint Procedure
    1600 Amphitheatre Parkway
    Mountain View, CA 94043

    OR fax to:

    (650) 963-3255, Attn: Google Legal Support, iGoogle Themes Trademark Complaint Procedure

Many Google Services do not have account holders or subscribers. For Services that do, Google will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate repeat infringers. If you believe that an account holder or subscriber is a repeat infringer, please follow the instructions above to contact Google and provide information sufficient for us to verify that the account holder or subscriber is a repeat infringer.
