Some content owners choose to make their content available for use on YouTube. A good example of this is YouTube's AudioSwap Music Library. Additionally, YouTube offers the Content Identification and Management System for copyright owners to control the use of their content on YouTube. If you upload content that is owned by one of YouTube's Content Identification partners, your video may be claimed by them. It is your responsibility to know whether or not the use of the content you wish to upload is authorized. Keep in mind that rights ownership or licensing can change!
