Buying glasses at a retail chain or optometrist is frustrating due to a limited selection of frames, an awkward try-on process, and the inability to see yourself once you take off your glasses. With sunglasses, it can be hard to see yourself in the mirror through dark lenses. Enter DITTO.com, where you can shop for designer glasses and use our patent-pending proprietary technology to create a DITTO, a video of your face from your webcam, so you can virtually try on glasses in 180-degree views. Compare styles side-by-side, send your DITTO to friends for style advice or ask one of our stylists.

The Building Blocks

Prior virtual try-on tools were 2D and didn't solve the real question: does it fit? We started from scratch and built a world-class computer vision engineering team that wrote algorithms to detect facial features in every frame of the customer's video taken from noisy webcams. We use that data to reconstruct the customer's head in 3D. We ask the customer to hold up the back of any plastic card in their wallet which we use to add scale with millimetric precision. We let customers drag their video from side to side so they can really get a sense of how the glasses look on them!
