the rundown

Since bridges bring us together, we wanted to return the favor. People could simply add their favorite bridge and it would be a part of the celebration for the most colorful one of them all; the Golden Gate. Suddenly, a covered bridge in Virginia was as famous as an 8-lane highway in China.

The Building Blocks

In looking at how to bring our idea to life, we found the digital equivalent to bridges; social media. But despite these platforms ability to connect people they're unable to connect with each other. So, in the spirit of the Golden Gate and bridges everywhere, we wanted to bring not only people but also social media together. For the first time ever, people could connect across Twitter, Facebook, Google+, country borders and bodies of water. Simply by adding a bridge using the Google Maps API.
