Banner ads are ubiquitous, but how effective are they? And are different sizes more effective than others? Answers to these questions can be found in this insightful 2009 research study by DoubleClick. What it finds is that ad size does correlate with click-through rates, and that one of the most-interacted - with sizes is also among the least used: the square pop-under.
