AKAI CR-80-SS
4-Channel Surround Stereo Cartridge Tape Recorder

Many folks say that AKAI made the best recorders on the market and this Quad unit is mighty nice! Specs: Built in power amp and 4 speaker jacks, 4-channel recording, One-Micron Gap Recording/Playback Head for frequency response to 16kHz.

These was also a stand-alone unit without the amplifier, the CR-80D-SS

AKAI CR-83D
8 Track  Stereo Record/Playback Deck

This AKAI features the very cool analog clock-style elapsed time indicator. It's a small hand that goes around a dial as the time elapses. I've never seen this deck, in action, but it's supposed to be a great one. (as are all the AKAI machines).
