| Description |
English: (1 in a multiple picture set) I got out early in the morning before most of the tourists were up, and caught this shot from inside Jackson's square, looking at one of the high-end shops. The story behind the arches is interesting. North of Jackson is the hugh National Elk Refuge. These animals drop there horns each season. In years past the local boy scouts would go out, collect them, and sell them. Before long there were too many and so an arch was made on one of the corners of the park. Now all four corners have an antler arch. Each year the scouts auction off the antlers not used in the arches. |
