U.S. Forest Service tweets snowstorm photos as Mirror Lake campgrounds open

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — If you want your Memorial Day to feel more like Christmas Day, there are two campgrounds near Mirror Lake now open for campers.

The Shady Dell and Soapstone campgrounds are open for Memorial Day weekend, according to tweets by the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest account.

Both campgrounds are open for the Memorial Day weekend, please be prepared for winter conditions if heading out to enjoy the forest

Photos tweeted of campgrounds in the Lower Provo and Yellow Pine areas show wet and muddy conditions.

If you go camping, make sure you are prepared for winter conditions.
