Stayed here 4 nights and our key cards got messed up probably 6 times. Other than that we definitely still enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the Hotel/Casino/Restaurants.

What happened to the Table Games? Used to like to play here because the had a game that I think was called "Switch" Blackjack and get a cheap footling hot dog. Hot dogs are still here, no table games anymore! All slots. Might come back if I'm desperate for a cheap hot dog on the strip... otherwise. Nope!

I love this dive bar and casino smack dab in the middle of the Strip. Reminds me of the way Vegas used to be. It's not the Bellagio so don't expect to see people dressed to the nines dropping $50 a hand on blackjack. In fact, they only have slot machines and video poker here but some of the best selection of slot machines I've seen. All the new games are here and they tend to pay out a little more. Best part is the bar located in the center. The bartender, I believe his name is Greg, is always working and is quick to give you a drink. He has some of the best pours on the Strip. The drinks are comped so throw him a little love and he won't forget you and will be quick to refill your glass.
As for some of the reviews that mention a drug element and a high homeless population. While this is true this is true anywhere in Vegas. The first White Castle west of the Mississippi went up in Casino Royale in 2014 and there's a a loyal following and drunk burger cravers. Casino Royale also has a Pizza Hut, Subway, Nathan's Hot Dog's and a Denny's at their property. It's some of the cheapest food available on the Strip. I think it's fun to pull up a seat and watch the nightly show of people in front of you. You don't have to pay it's free and the entertainment is priceless. Go see for yourself then go home and shower after, lol!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Colin S.Madison Heights, MI04Mar 2, 2024
One of the "best" casinos on The Strip. Always a fun time. Cheap drinks at a cash only bar. Occasionally smells like a sewer.

Stayed 2 nights at this conveniently located Best Western, mainly to avoid hotel resort fees found in most other Vegas hotels. We don't use the resort amenities, so why pay for them? I would give the hotel 3.5 stars if I could. Just don'e expect fancy. Read on for the pros and cons.
PROs
~Compact room with all you need, fridge, safe, iron, TV, hairdryer, pod coffee maker, tea/coffee.
~Great powerful shower.
~Comfy bed and bedding/sheets.
~Convenient location center strip, next to the Venetian, across from Mirage, short walk to Ceasar's and the Linq Promenade. Next to fast food and reduced price ticket booth.
~We took a ride share from the airport for around $15 which dropped us off at the back door/casino entrance to the hotel.
~Individual toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap.
~Casino on lower level of hotel -- seemed like mostly slots.
~Baggage storage at the front desk if your flight doesn't leave early and you have to check out.
~Not pretentious, not fancy, but does the job.
~Parking available, but we didn't use it.
~Friendly front desk staff.
~Clean.
CONs
~Bit slow checking in -- only one person on the desk, but she was very cordial.
~Housekeeping if requested at check-in. We requested it.
~Loud fridge - we unplugged it for the second night.
~Had to run the air/heat system to block out occasional hallway noise of people talking/closing doors.
~Breakfast not provided. We ate next door at a well known fast food golden arches establishment.
~You have to walk through the smokey/noisy/busy casino to check in.
~Everywhere in Vegas smells like pot nowadays. Gross.Helpful 8Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Jul 30, 2021
Best Western has a location that allows people to stay at the center of the Strip on a budget. It has a very good location. Walk easily to the better hotels and casinos while saving money staying at this average place. Casino stinks but there's cheap drinks and eats. The hotel is a well known brand so if you're okay with it then it's a fine stay.
Inside the main entrance is the casino. It's a classic old style casino with a low ceiling. This helps trap in tons of smoke. Holy shit this place stinks literally. The best thing about it is there's a cheap bar with some of the best prices on the Strip or in Vegas. If you're hungry they have several budget choices. There's a Denny's. Having a location here is only appropriate. Many people love to fill up and stay on a budget at America's diner. Also there's an option for healthier choices. Subway also has a location.
Come to the middle of the Strip and stay cheap. It currently doesn't have any resort fees. They make up for this with higher regular prices though.Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - Sep 4, 2022
Center Strip on a budget?! That doesn't exist. Oh wait... I forgot Casino Royale.
Not that long ago there was Barbary Coast, Boardwalk - lots of budget center Strip options... these days large luxury City Center type establishments have taken over like the plague. Even Imperial Palace - turned into the QUAD and somehow - with their lipstick on a pig remodel - is charging too much.
This is an honest hotel casino that doesn't pretend to be something its not. Its a Best Western - well I guess the 'Plus' does have a little high nose attitude to it but not much.
Personality packed casino where I have lots of good memories. In fact once when the kid brother was with a few frineds and I had these Irish Car Bombs from here - all of us held out our drinks unreasonably far away from ourselves and dropped the shot into the beer from a height as to check if gravity was still working. Kid brother's fancy jacket got soaked but we were too busy chugging because thats how thats done.
If money is no option for you - don't get a hotel here. Its hard to beat a terrace suite fountain view at the Cosmo. If money is no option for you the casino and atmosphere still might tickle your fancy. Thats how that works. Younger crowd having fun. I think its great to be around that sort of environment once in a while.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - A. H.Northern California, CA0902096Sep 16, 2023
This last stay was my 2nd time at the Casino Royale. While checking it out from the outside, it looks so different compared to the gigantic corporate hotel/casinos elsewhere on the Strip. It feels a little rundown, but I find it to still have some of the best bargains on the Strip as far as food and drinks are concerned. When I got to the hotel to check-in this go-around, there was only one person working the front desk and the person ahead of me said she was already waiting for 10 minutes, so that wasn't great. The main reason I chose the Casino Royale is that they don't charge resort fees, although their rates aren't always that low either, so that's probably how they make up for it.
Both times I've stayed at the hotel, the rooms are clean, but there isn't much of a view to speak of since the hotel isn't very large. All the basic amenities are there, including a Kering coffee machine. But the beds are comfortable and clean and that's what I basically need. The location can't be beat since it's smack in the middle of the Strip, so it's convenient to go north or south of the Strip and Caesars Palace and Mirage right across the street.
The downside to this place is how smokey the casino is, seemingly more so than other casinos nearby. Also, during this stay, I could hear folks running up and down the hall and slamming their doors (not late at night, but it was still annoying). However, for all the downsides, I probably would still considering going back if the rate was right and for its proximity to the other places on the Strip.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paul C.Detroit, MI02Jan 8, 2024
FOR THE RECORD - We love this place and all the bartenders have been great to us, with one exception.
Management dealt with this in a timely and professional manner.
My only comment here is that I will walking right by this casino if Mike is working at the bar. He's very unprofessional and inappropriate.
Zero stars for the customer service and 5 stars for how management dealt with the situation - 3 stars total review.
We were at Casino Royale for a couple of beers and table top machines. We put money in, got 2 beers then we were advised we need to play max credits. Okay, no problem, we did. My wife lost her 1st $20, i broke even, etc...
Then she asked if she can get a comped beer if she throws another $20 in. The bartender Mike replies "only if you're actually going to play this time" and walks away. Comes back with the beer and my wife asked him if he was serious with his previous comment. In a roundabout way he said yes. She then told him she is playing and this is why she was out of money and he doesn't have to be a dick about it. He snapped, called security over to kick us out. We were only on beer number 3 here so far from ever being drunk and unruly. Security comes over, we explain the situation and he gets a manager. Manager comes over, we explain the situation again and she says, "I would have done/said the same thing to the bartender". Apologized for his shitty attitude and said it will be dealt with.
For the record, I've been wanting to complain about this guy for YEARS.... Every time he's working it's like walking on egg shells. In fact, he's the definition of this term. I personally don't like confrontation but in the end I'm glad it played out the way it did.
Casino Royale is a great place to go to, just not if Mike is working the bar.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin B.Fountain Valley, CA291641283Aug 15, 2023
Another good place in the middle of the strip to have fun. We were here hanging out and gambling, Eating and enjoying the live music and fun. Blackjack i was playing 30 dollars a hand and came up on 70 dollars and lost my money lol. Great Casino with games and good food and drinks. Great staff and fun. Variety of slot machines i had fun playing and came up on a good amount of money.
