Two things were good about this place, the young man who checked us in, they should pay him more and the bed.
The rest was a shithole. Old and worn out would be an understatement. They are renovating but the new faucet in our bathroom was so loose you had to hold it with one hand while turning it on with the other. The new shower head was more like a gentle list than a shower. I understand the desire to save water but if it takes 20 minutes to rinse off the soap, is it really saving water.
AVOID THIS DUMP!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Andrea J.Dallas, TX04Sep 21, 2021
Jeers to Candlewood Suites in Little Rock (off Markham)
I came into town for a 6 week contract at Baptist Health. Initially, I was staying at the hotel on a day to day basis while attempting to find more long term options. After a few days I had exhausted those attempts and inquired about doing a 30 day stay. I was interested in changing my room type from a double to a one bedroom suite since I was traveling with a teenager and dog. I asked to see the suite prior to moving in and the clerk took me upstairs to show me what it looked like. During our walk upstairs the clerk asked what brought me to LR and I told her I was a travel nurse coming to work at Baptist. Once back downstairs I agreed on the room change after I was told it was a better option and would be cheaper than night to night. I was quoted $1950 at this time and told to give them time to write out the agreement paperwork and add drip pans to the stove. When I came back down a few hours later they had changed the rate to $2000/month. I questioned the change and was told it couldn't be changed to any lower. They had also written across the document the rate was non-refundable and I was a travel RN. I was extremely irritated, but just ready to get moved in since I had to work that night. I pulled out my card to pay and they informed me they had already charged my card. My info was on file from the previous nights. That's completely illegal. I could of changed my mind or anything during those few hours. I'd like to add I entered the contract unaware that the 1bdrm suite had A/C in the living room, but not in the bedroom. When I complained about it the manager gave me a box fan. They refuse to give my money back and judging by multiple conversations about this subject they play this game quite often. I'm in the process of disputing through Chase.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mike M.Cleveland, SC013116Feb 4, 2019
Candlewood Suites in Little Rock was exactly what we needed to wind down and relax as a stop during our travels. The customer service was great and room was very comfortable. The kitchen area had all the necessities including a full-size refrigerator. The shower got hot very quickly (nice on a cold day). For entertainment, we rented a few board games from the hotel (which was something we hadn't seen at other hotels). Breakfast is not offered, but their store had a variety of affordable options. The location was close to everything we wanted to see and do in town. We'd highly recommend it to fellow travelers.

I'm only giving one star because Yelp doesn't let you give anything less, wish I could give negative stars. I stayed about 30 minutes and had to leave and find another hotel the marijuana smoke from three rooms down was unbelievable. Latrice will tell you the hotel is a smoke free establishment and will not refund your money. So I was out $139 and could not stay the night so not worth it. If I was you and you're reading DO NOT STAY HERE you've been warned. If you look up (hole in the wall) there will be a picture of Candlewood Suites in West Little Rock. The rooms were remodeled and looked great inside so if you enjoy marijuana smoke this is the place for you.

DO NOT STAY HERE.
First, the young lady who checked us in was extremely rude! I asked for a non smoking room but got put in a room on the floor that smelled of Marijuana. This hotel is in a bad area and is not safe for kids. Recommend staying as far away from West Little Rock as PossibleHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matt K.Spring, TX1403725Oct 13, 2016
I'm currently staying here for work and am not too sure I'll be staying here again. Although the rates were competitive with other similar hotels in Little Rock, there are a few things that turn me off about this place..
First off, the wireless internet is awful. If you have a CAT5 cable, I suggest bringing it with you to connect via hardwire! Because I'm here for work, the internet speed and reliability are important to me, but it has been slow and spotty. About every other hour I have to reconnect to the internet as the connection will be limited and will not be strong enough to utilize. I had to speak to someone at the front desk about it and they said they would "reset" it to fix the problem -- it didn't improve.
Second, there isn't breakfast here.. Yes, you can learn this from their website prior to booking, and no fault to them -- just another reason I won't stay here again.
Third, there is only weekly room service.. What?! To get new towels, you have to bundle up all of your used ones and haul them down to the front desk. Just strange to me as I've never stayed in a hotel that didn't clean your room and replace your linens daily. Oh well..
On the plus side, the staff has been very friendly and accommodating. It's also in a good location -- the area around the hotel has many restaurants, shopping, and you're only about 15 minutes from downtown.
I give them 2 stars overall as the Internet being horrible has been a pretty big burden for getting work done. Oh, and the awkward walk to the front desk with a bundle of towels doesn't make their 2 stars twinkle either..Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michael D.Arlington, VA26152Jul 29, 2014
This is a review of the Motel 6 next door to the Candlewood Suites, for some reason listed on Yelp with exactly the same address.
We drove here from another Motel 6 in Amarillo, Texas and once again found friendly service, a clean bed, warm shower, peace and quiet, and not only reliable wifi but fast enough that we were able to hang out in the room at watch Netflix on my computer. Not sure why it's taken so long for Motel 6 to get reliable wifi into the rooms and not just the office, but this one made us believe that it had finally happened. Sadly the Motel 6's in Birmingham, Alabama, Charlotte, North Carolina and Newport News, Virginia showed proved us wrong!
But the staff here are friendly and helpful and the room is comfortable and clean for a good price. I'd stay here again for sure.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Linda G.Fresno, CA03Aug 19, 2017
I just stayed at the Candlewood for 4 nights. It turned out to be a great place to stay. Good location for me, very friendly staff, and I LOVED the kitchen. With a Whole Foods nearby, I could continue to eat healthy, even while traveling.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the air conditioner turns off within 15 minutes if you're not moving around the room, so I had to keep re-setting it.
Other than that, a great stay!!

Stayed here while studying for an exam. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bed was easy to fall asleep in. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely consider again if in the area. Only down side was that there was some freeway noise.

Wow! A male employee of the hotel unlocked my door and started walking into the room. While I was still lying in bed on my day off!!
