Holiday Inn Express Pocomoke City

Haven't been to a Holiday Inn in years, but hotel ratings for Pokomoke City indicate that it's probably the better to stay when visiting. The overall experience was fine, from check-in to checkout. There were just a couple of notable issues:

Thermostat was wonky - the room was freezing when I first entered. I turned the unit down, the room got stuffy. I couldn't get the dang thing to cool the room off again.

The room was dingy and in bad need of a paint touch up. The carpet had stains - nothing a good shampooing couldn't handle.

Otherwise, the stay was okay. Staff was decent, ample parking.

Hotel seemed decent to us, only stayed one night. Our first floor room was clean, no ants as another patron indicated. Front desk accomadated special request.

I was bummed though that the breakfast buffet, especially the waffles!, weren't available. They did provide packaged breakfast items, including sandwiches.

Average at best. Stayed here as the choices in the area are limited. Haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn in a few years but figured why not.

It just wasn't what I remembered. Felt old and in need of a remodel. No huge complaints just not impressive.

Booked for one night. Upon arrival I cleaned down high touch surfaces due to Covid. I found about 5 ants on the paper towel I used to clean a table. Not okay! Called the front desk and was moved across the hall. Same issue in that room, and even found an ant on a pillow! Apparently there has been an ant issue on the first floor. We were moved one last time to the second floor and had no ant issues. This hotel is not what it used to be. Disappointed in the cleanliness/ cleaning provided for a room during a pandemic.

Unfortunately, this is the only decent hotel in this area so the prices are sky-high for no reason. All the other hotels in Pocomoke have gone extremely downhill so this is your only clean and comfortable option unless you want to venture further out to Salisbury or go to Chincoteague.

With that being said, this hotel is clean and is in a convenient location. Breakfast is included which is another plus. I personally love the cinnamon rolls. The beds are very comfortable. However, during my last stay there were issues with the tv and the Wi-Fi. They also have a pool which I haven't gotten in yet. Being that my family is from the area, I'm sure there will be plenty more stays to come as long as they keep the hotel in good condition.

I should know... I stayed at a Holiday Inn express last night.

I'm going to tell you what you need to know. This was a standard holiday inn express. An older property. The staff was very nice and the room was clean but showed signs of wear. Also the room was very large. We had a guest and king bed and there was lots of room to spare. The one thing I did not like and this is personal to me but that the sink was outside the bathroom. The breakfast was also pretty standard. The location was good be aside there was a pebbles across the parking lot along with a few other stores that are with walking distance. Nothing else you would need to know.

Have been coming for years. First visit in a little while. Pricing has gotten pretty high. Rooms are still comfortable and quiet. Bathrooms and furniture are a bit worn now. WIFI was choppy and unstable, even in the central part of the building on only the second floor. Breakfast was nicely done as usual and the staff was professional and friendly. Parking is easy and the pool is welcoming. Lots of food choices and some light shopping in the surrounding areal. Great pivot point between the beach route and heading north back to the mainland. Business center is limited to a single computer and printer, but worked quite well as I printed tickets out before departing.

Wish they would pull the rates back to the value side or offer something distinctive for the extra coin, but still a fair place to stop for the night and relax.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. All the staff are friendly and courteous. The free breakfast is good and has plenty of options. The hotel is located in close proximity to food and entertainment.

This hotel was clean and nicely updated. All non-smoking rooms. The pool looked lovely although I didn't use it. The staff was friendly and helpful. Yummy breakfast at no additional charge.
