A clusterf**k of a gas station! It was crowded. So crowded that people we're at their stellar best in cutting off, driving too fast, impatient, and pulling in close to vehicles waiting in line for gas. You'd think that there was a gas shortage at 11:30am on Memorial Day. But Hey I get it people were traveling a lot today, more than on a usual day but we have been on the road in 5 states in the past week and have stopped in many middle of nowhere gas stations and this is the only one that had such a high percentage of jerks out and about. I'd avoid this pits of hell stop in the future. The Chevron across the street looked slightly better but I'd say unless you are on fumes, just stay on the road a bit longer before you stop for gas.

The sign in the door says "Masks required," yet the employees are wearing theirs around their chins. More than half the people who enter aren't wearing masks at all and no one is keeping a 6ft distance. Stupidity abounds.

Wow!!! TWO! TWO! TWO! CHAIRS that's the drivers lounge!!!! 10 diesel pumps pumping away to hundreds is not thousands of truckers on a daily basis and all they can do for us to relax after a long day of driving is two chairs and what looks like a 20" tv!!!! Showers, food, (Arby's) pretty much the same as any other pilot..

Let's be honest, it's a truck stop and gas station- there is no way that it is going to get a 5-star rating.

With that said, no real surprises here as it's a pretty standard Pilot, so I will hit just a few points: the trash cans by the fuel pumps were full at 5 am to the point of overflowing, the staff was friendly, the gas was cheaper than the Chevron across the street by quite a bit, easy on/off access for westbound I-84 traffic, large illuminated sign showed both gasoline and diesel prices visible while still on the interstate. Bathroom was OK but the hand soap was not very effective at cleaning.

Would I stop here again? Sure.

Stopped here for fuel. Used a pump that was ridiculously slow that we stopped pumping after being charged only $1. We got home and checked our bank account only to find that in addition to our $1 fuel charge we were also charged $151. We thought perhaps there may have been a mixup so we immediately called the Pilot Truck Stop in Mountain Home only to find that they actually do hold the $151 as a pending hold. It can possibly take 24 hours up to a few days to clear. After 4 hours and a call to the actual store our account still showed a $1 hold and $150 of the pending charge was placed back in our account. All of this is very disappointing! We feel that Pilot should, at the very least, have disclaimers posted stating their policies so that patrons are aware of charges showing up on their accounts.
We read other reviews about experiences with Pilot and this action has severely impacted others' bank accounts.
Please be aware if traveling and needing funds for other things as this may impact further transactions until Pilot clears with your bank.

As a person who loves road trips, i have to say i found this Pilot Travel Center pretty nice. There's an Arby's attached to the location, a convenience store with a variety of car snacking goodies and beverages and of most importantly the area is nice so you don't feel like you need to hurry, get gas and then get the hell out of there.

a not scary place to stop on a road trip

This place was THE spot for pit stops during Boy Scout camping trips. There have been so many memories here (call me a nerd) that I was NOT happy when I learned that it caught fire and shut down several years ago.

It has since been re-opened and it is now better than ever. The Arby's attached to the gas station itself make it convenient to where you aren't forced to break your diets by eating donuts and chips normally found at simple gas stations. A very welcoming environment, despite what some folks may say about truck stops.

Terrible pumps, had to leave after 10 minutes of trying to get it to work, if you are driving into mountain home and have the option go across the street to the chevron!
