Isolated Campground with Lots to Explore
There are a lot of backroads to explore in the area. The campground was on the edge of the 2020 Creek Fire. It was closed in 2021 and hazard trees were removed. I would expect it to open in 2022 but recommend calling the Bass Lake Ranger Station.
Quiet and peaceful
Nice drive good place for hard core campers lots of hiking trails to hike up and down lots of places to explore in the falls are really cool good cold water coming off the mountain this is my new spot to camp in until I find another one ! THE SEARCH CONTINUES ! 😎

Best place ever
Let me start by saying it was worth driving six and a half hours to get here. We loved everything from the, isolated campgrounds, the off road trails to test our 4x4 trucks and how our dogs were free to explore with us. There is plenty of wood for your fires, shaded hiking when the sun was out and did I mention the whiskey falls? Beautiful!! Hike past it for an even more beautiful sight to behold. Bass lake is close by as well so you can take a dip to rinse off all the dust you kick up. Yosemite is nice but I prefer less people with a lot of activities.

Greatest campground ever!
This is a fantastic little campground my family has been coming to for years. We're working on our third generation of Whisky kids! The only bad thing is that here lately more people have discovered it and you've got to get up there early to get a site. Too bad we couldn't keep it secret forever, but that's the way it goes. The waterfall is a short hike away, and there are plenty of trails to hike during the day, as well as dirt roads to explore. Even if the campground is full there are a couple of "overflow" sites nearby. This is our happy place!
Awesome place
Took the kids we loved quiet and relaxing

Fantastic privacy, with amazing falls and Bass Lake nearby
While this campground was closed in July due to the same fire that threatened Yosemite, the flames never reached within probably 15+ miles of this location, and remains safe now that the fire has been contained.
This campground is found a reasonable distance up in the Forest, and as such, offers a great deal of privacy. Individual sites are quite spread out; the only "service" is a vault toilet. It's a very minimalist campground, but the views nearby are worth it. And Whisky Falls itself, perhaps a mile away, is just utterly stunning.
Dogs are allowed, but definitely check fire restrictions and closures before traveling this way.

Do you love waterfalls?
This state park has something for everyone. It has some fun hikes out to some pretty incredible waterfalls. The lakes are stunning, and there are a LOT of campsites to choose from. I also appreciated the space they provide at campsites to store food that are bear proof. If you like to off-road there are plenty of two tracks , and if you don’t there are campsites for you too. The rangers in the station are helpful in finding the best place for your needs. We really enjoyed spending a weekend here.
