‘The Devil’s tobacco’

This is a stunning perennial from Chile, where it can grow to 2.5 meters. The tall stems and tobacco like leaves have an attractive powdery olive green colour and the long racemes of tubular red flowers appear from late summer and into autumn.
Grow in moist well drained soil in full sun and in a sheltered position. Deciduous in the UK and will need a mulch of dry bark around the root area.

Plants are supplied in a 1 litre pot, with their compost and are similar to the plants seen in pictures 3 and 4. Pictures 1 and 2 shows the flowers on a planted specimen and is not the plant for sale. Plants are seed grown by us on our Wiltshire Nurserie.
