Aamna Sharif has been in the world of showbiz for a while now. The actress started her acting career with a TV show, Kahiin Toh Hoga. Aamna rose to fame with that TV show, in which she was paired opposite Rajeev Khandelwal. However, before she became an actor, Aamna went through her own set of hardships. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Aamna said it was difficult to convince her parents to get into acting because she comes from a conservative Muslim family.
'I COME FROM A CONSERVATIVE MUSLIM FAMILY'
On being asked about the challenges she faced before entering the telly world, Aamna Sharif said, "Firstly, it was a challenge to convince my parents. It wasn't really easy to convince the entire family to get into acting because I come from a very conservative Muslim family. That was the most difficult aspect."
The actress further mentioned that she wanted to be an actress since the age of six. "I knew I wanted to be an actress. From the age of six or seven, I had started shooting these videos of mine where I would dance. I actually collapsed once. There was a cousin's engagement and I said, okay, the videographer is coming. And I did some 10 songs and by the end of it I actually fainted," recalled Sharif.

Continuing her chat with us, Aamna revealed there was nobody to guide her when she entered the world of acting. The actress said she didn't attend any acting classes. She further recalled how terrible she was at acting while shooting for her first show, Kahiin Toh Hoga.
Going down memory lane, the actress said, "I was called for my very first show, Kahiin Toh Hoga. Somehow, Ekta [Kapoor] saw something in me but I was terrible. I couldn't even remember the lines. I did the look test and I was given a screenplay and we were going to start shooting. I went on the set and mugged the entire screenplay. And when I went there, they gave me a scene and I was like 'what is this? Main yaad karke aayi hoon, jo diya tha mujhe'. And they said 'you have to do a scene'. I was so nervous because I was opposite Rajeev Khandelwal, who is a fabulous actor and I just couldn't do it. We had to cancel the shoot because I couldn't mug up that."
