Corbin family finds rattlesnake in yard

A Corbin family is calling their dog a hero.

They said the pup found a rattlesnake just feet from where their children were going to play.

Jamie Woods said her dog 'LuLu' found the nearly two-feet long timber rattlesnake over the weekend.

The dog barked and growled, alerting the family. Woods said she nearly froze when she saw the snake.

"It was scary because that could have been easily my son because usually when he goes outside to play, his little sister comes out with him and she's only one," said Woods. "So had it been her and him, things may have not ended the way that they did."

Experts said despite all of the social media posts and emails to us about snakes, this year does not seem to be any worse than years past. They did say it's odd to find a rattlesnake in someone's backyard.
