Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications.
  • Experience in media relationships and digital advertising.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to translate complex products launches into simple narratives understandable by the business and trade press.
  • Ability to plan and execute on multiple projects at the same time in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to work effectively, cross-functionally and creatively to overcome problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

About the job

As a member of Ads Communications, you will lead global communications for two significant areas of Google’s advertising business: ads measurement and ads privacy. You will focus on proactive storytelling to promote our ads measurement products to goals audiences, including press, influencers and customers across earned and owned channels. You will include developing a proactive communications plan, pitching stories to ad trade, technology and business outlets, staffing interviews with Product and Sales executives and building thought leadership.

Additionally, you will manage proactive and reactive communications plans for Google’s ads privacy innovations, such as confidential computing, industry-leading ads privacy practices and personalization policies. You will advise cross-functional teams on product development, launches and policy changes, working with Product, Sales, Marketing, Legal and Government Affairs to develop communications strategies and messaging that aligns with company goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000-$157,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead external communications for Google's ads measurement products that help businesses of all sizes understand the impact of their campaigns on Search, YouTube, Display and more.
  • Develop and execute a proactive campaign to elevate Google’s innovative ads measurement solutions externally, including pitching stories, staffing interviews and driving thought leadership.
  • Act as a primary contact for journalists and manage media inquiries related to our ads measurement products, privacy practices and personalization policies.
  • Draft and edit a variety of communications materials, including blog posts, talking points, and social media posts.
  • Work cross-functionally and provide internal counsel on product development, launches and ads policy changes, including preparing reactive Communications.
