Director, Technical Program Management, Silicon Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of professional experience in the silicon industry, or 13 years with an advanced degree.
  • 8 years of experience as a silicon design engineer or management role in architecture, micro-architecture, physical design, or DV or DFT.
  • 5 years of experience in leading technical program management teams or cross-functional silicon projects.
  • 5 years of experience in IP or SoC delivery.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience delivering multiple concurrent silicon programs, working cross-functionally.
  • Experience building, mentoring, and leading high-performance teams to achieve challenging goals, leveraging the strengths, weaknesses and styles of key players.
  • Ability to effectively influence cross-functionally with all levels of management. Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, creating shared commitment towards success.
  • Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment working towards doing groundbreaking innovation in silicon.

You will be part of Google’s Consumer Hardware Silicon team, developing high performance and low power hardware to enable Google’s continuous innovations in this space.

As Director of the Silicon Engineering Technical Program Management (TPM) team, you will lead a team responsible for SOC development over the full product cycle from pre-silicon to commercialization. You will bring a breadth of expertise across silicon Architecture, RTL, DV, and silicon productization. Your team drives execution of multiple concurrent SoC projects, this includes coordination of deliverables across multiple geographies, managing overall program schedules at target Power Performance Area (PPA) and quality, negotiations with stakeholders and escalation when needed to get decisions made and dissemination of program status across the team.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $272,000-$383,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent silicon programs from requirements through commercialization, including managing complex project schedules, removing roadblocks, and keeping processes running smoothly.
  • Be part of roadmap planning and strategic decisions impacting the silicon team. Drive executive program reviews, working cross-functionally and building relationships with key stakeholders in internal and external supplier and customer organizations.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and Chief of Staff on the silicon roadmap, including 5-year planning around headcount, IP procurement, budgeting, and strategic decisions impacting the silicon team. Support agreement negotiations with vendors.
  • Lead, grow, and develop a high-performing team, creating a culture across the organization and shaping an outlook for the future during a period of rapid growth. Set the outlook for the program management team.
