Director, Application Engineering, Supply Chain Systems Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience building and designing distributed enterprise-level systems.
  • Experience in AI/ML relevant to enterprise solutions.
  • Experience leading and managing global engineering teams.
  • Experience with first-party and third-party systems integration and leading and delivering system transformations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 20 years of experience in systems engineering, architecture, or a similar role, with a significant portion focused on global supply chain, logistics, or related enterprise systems.
  • Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and infrastructure, and experience with complex data modeling and large-scale data processing within a supply chain context.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including but not limited to planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, inventory management, and demand forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead without direct authority, building strong relationships and driving alignment across diverse teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

This role is crucial for transforming complex supply chain systems that power Google Cloud at an unprecedented scale. You will be instrumental in transforming and scaling our Google Cloud Global Supply Chain systems.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for the integration of AI/ML technologies across our supply chain systems to enable predictive analytics, intelligent automation, optimization, and enhanced decision-making.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to identify opportunities and translate them into executable technical plans.
  • Scale organizational impact by mentoring future technical leaders and creating new working structures for large-scale program execution. Own the end-to-end reliability, performance, security, and scalability of critical system components.
  • Advocate for ASCII’s vision for Google data centers and supply chain, driving 10x thinking and AI innovation for measured, touchless user experiences.
  • Lead and transform the architecture and evolution of highly scalable and resilient supply chain systems, driving significant improvements in efficiency, cost, and agility collaborating across Cloud systems, supply chain products, Platforms Infrastructure Engineering (PIE) and CorpEng.
