Product Operations Manager, Games and Apps

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in a project/program management, consulting, or client facing role.
  • 5 years of experience in a Product Management, Product Operations, or similar role working with products in an online commerce or content business.
  • Experience in the gaming space (like developers, publishers, platforms), with a focus on the mobile gaming consumer (e.g., player acquisition, engagement, and business generation).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in designing, implementing and managing product development and operationalization frameworks and methodologies.
  • Experience with prompt engineering and human computation.
  • Experience working with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Experience navigating organizations and collaborating with internal and external partners across multiple geographic locations.
  • Ability to make smart tradeoffs and launch and iterate new product features for a user-facing commercial organization, and effectively influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with a passion for games.

About the job

The Consumer Operations team is all about focusing on the user. You work on our flagship consumer products like Gmail, Chrome, Android and Google+ to actively support global users through help centers and online communities. You are a Google guru. You have detailed knowledge of our constantly evolving product suite to ensure that user feedback flows to the Product team and fuels innovation. In this highly cross-functional role, you are the voice of our users and problem-solve with the Product, Marketing, Legal and Engineering teams. You process suggestions, bugs, abuse and other product information to ensure we are constantly improving the user experience.

As a ConOps Strategist, you serve as the main contact point for major products.. You share best practices routinely within the team including market specialists and exemplify collaboration for newer team members. You know how to structure and lead brainstorming sessions from team to cross-functional levels.

In this role, you will partner with different Play Product, Engineering and Product Marketing teams to determine the requirements and road map for launching and optimizing emerging programs, features and products. You will lead the operationalization efforts, connecting the ‘what’ with the ‘how’, and coming up with solutions and processes that enable scale. You will primarily focuses on enabling new content experiences within the mobile app ecosystem through design, test, experiment and scale new features that reaches billions of users across multi-categorical landscape spanning from games, to productivity and social apps.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the product roadmap for the Play Store as it relates to search, discovery, and engagement with content, including apps themselves as well as multi-modal content that appears on the Play Store on all form factors, including mobile, large screen, watches, and more.
  • Develop capabilities and thought leadership in partnership with the Product Management, Engineering and Product Marketing teams, and other Play partner teams (e.g., Business Development), to launch new products, scale operations, and increase the impact of content solutions.
  • Define and operationalize guidelines and frameworks for content classification, evaluation and deployment to help connect users to relevant and high quality content.
  • Own the operationalization of product features, ensuring all details for a feature to go live are carefully addressed, from design, to legal, and operations processes.
