Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program or project management.
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience executing risk or compliance programs.
Preferred qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and proactively identify opportunities that address the goals of the team and build relationships, align across multiple functions to create mutually workable solutions and manage expectations.
- Ability to craft clear, concise narratives for reports and documentation, tailor communications to inform and influence various stakeholders, and manage multiple simultaneous projects amidst changing requirements, competing demands, varied stakeholder inputs, and external deadlines.
- Familiarity with risk management, technical/platform policy, regulatory environment or compliance environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, stakeholder management skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.As a Societal Risk Program Manager, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and scaling our global societal risk program. This role requires you to support the execution of risk assessments across a wide range of products and functions including regulatory affairs, product areas, and trust and safety. You will bring a results-oriented mindset to the team, applying your ability to solve issues and sharp attention to detail to ensure program leadership and goal achievement.At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. Trust & Safety is Google’s team of abuse fighting and user trust experts working daily to make the internet a safer place. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a societal risk program.
- Support execution and scaling of risk assessments across products and horizontal functions.
- Operationalize risk processes by driving collaboration and alignment with a broad range of Google-wide partner teams (e.g., Regulatory Affairs, Risk, Compliance and Integrity, Product Areas, Trust and Safety)
- Establish and track processes in collaboration with stakeholders, identify sponsors and stakeholders and secure resources, ensure work alignment with compliance policies, identify opportunities, and implement process improvements.
- Establish a leadership presence with a global mindset and a proven ability to influence and inspire across all levels of the organization; ability to think holistically, with a bias to action, exemplary problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
