TV Field Partner Engineer, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
  • 6 years of experience working with client-side troubleshooting web technologies (e.g., HTML, XML, JavaScript).
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in an analytical role such as business intelligence, data analytics, or statistics.
  • Experience working with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience in the media industry, including television and video technologies.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, multitasking, and communication skills.

About the job

As a TV Partner Engineer, you will be responsible for YouTube’s technical integrations and workflows with media companies. In this role, you will be responsible for enabling the integrations between media companies, their content offerings, and YouTube. You will engage with partners, as well as cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Business Development, Product Management, and Operations to specify and help develop the workflows, tools, applications, and strategy to support integrations and partners. You will be instrumental in taking new initiatives from conception to successful deployment, implementing short-term solutions to bridge gaps for partners, and commercializing new solutions for the long-term.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support TV partners through technical troubleshooting, influencing, GTM adoption, and internal cross-functional collaboration. Capture trends across partners, advocate their needs internally, and create repeatable processes that can be scaled.
  • Identify, drive, and optimize various operational workflows and tools to maximize partners’ success on the platform. Represent the industry’s needs to the Product and Engineering teams.
  • Improve operations by developing automation scripts and dashboards. Improve product feature offerings by providing feedback to internal cross-functional teams, including Product Management and Engineering.
  • Guarantee the technical aspects of a partner’s integration (both new and ongoing) by providing necessary documentation and technical guidance.
