Manager, Internal Communications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in internal and executive communications with technology products or services.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience providing communications guidance to and influencing executive leaders and devising communications strategy.
  • Experience in project management or event management, and supporting executives or leading cross-functional programs.
  • Ability to think, plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously, and work efficiently with a global team of colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to advise executives on internal topics, ranging from sensitive employee issues to organizational change management to speeches.
  • Excellent team player, with the ability to work calmly in a fluid environment, and be comfortable in presenting ideas to executive leadership.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communications skills.

About the job

As a member of the Executive and Internal Communications team, you will be part of a team which produces employee communications and events for Google executives. You will work with members of your internal client team on communications initiatives, projects and programs. You will support the work of the team to create strategic communications campaigns, come up with innovative ways to engage employees that are in tune with Google's culture, write communications, business update presentations and talking points. You will also collaborate with internal partners as needed across functions (PR, Policy, Legal, HR, Operations, etc.) and geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Work with leaders and cross-functional teams to create and lead effective internal communications and employee engagement programs for the employees.
  • Create strategic and creative campaigns to engage and inform employees globally for gTech Ads. Manage the operational aspects of one large or multiple smaller programs, oversee elements such as risk monitoring, communication flows, and planning. Lead site-wide or country wide town halls, events, executive visits, etc.
  • Write communications, presentations, talking points and change communications. Recommend solutions to enhance and build a strong culture. Assist in change management efforts arising from program-related disruptions.
  • Provide comprehensive program management support for gTech Ads initiatives, including the activation, development, and implementation of organizational effectiveness products.
  • Analyze and report on program progress towards goals throughout the project lifecycle, identify and flag potential risks and issues, and support the corrective measurements.
