Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience managing technical projects in the cloud or silicon development industries.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Data Center industry experience and experience in areas such as information security, data security, supplier management, global operations, or cost controls in industry.
  • Experience with the domain area of NPI launch, Hardware Manufacturing, Supply Chain operations, Material Management, and Technical Operations.
  • Experience with enterprise programs and cloud technologies. Technical expertise in systems and software.
  • Excellent leadership skills to influence technical leaders across the company.

The Server Operations team monitors the physical and network infrastructure behind Google’s technology and holds responsibility for keeping the servers, networks, and logistics processes in Google’s global fleet of data centers running smoothly and efficiently. We strive to be creative and team-oriented.

As a member of Fleet Management, you will develop relationships, internally and externally, and connect with internal customers and partner teams to develop an understanding of their business requirements and goals.

As Director, you will oversee Data Security, Information Security, and Incident Management programs globally. You will define and execute the global security and risk strategy for all Data Center assets globally, and act as a recognized authority to influence executive leadership, customers, and regulatory bodies.

In this role, you will lead and scale a high-performing global team, owning the development of security policy, governance and implementation/maintenance of various industry leading logical and physical security controls to ensure Google maintains its industry leading edge regarding customer data protection, and Google IP protection. You will develop, implement, and maintain incident response frameworks, and manage the end-to-end Incident Management lifecycle for critical security events.

Additionally, you will manage Capital Expenditure and Operational Expenditure security budgets, driving strategic cross-functional partnerships with Engineering and Legal, and directing the identification and mitigation of enterprise-level security risks. You will represent Data Center Security in high-stakes engagements like disaster recovery and regulatory audits.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $272,000-$383,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the global security and risk strategy for all Data Center physical and logical assets, focusing on Data Security, Information Security, and an excellent Incident Management program.
  • Own the development and implementation of global security policies, standards, and incident response frameworks that drive transformational impact on efficiency, compliance, and resilience for Google's Data Center fleet.
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end Incident Management lifecycle for critical security events, ensuring swift containment, root cause analysis, and the development of systemic preventative measures to eliminate recurrence.
  • Drive strategic cross-functional partnerships with Engineering (e.g., PIE, Platforms, SRE), Legal, and Public Policy teams to integrate security-by-design into the future architecture of Data Center platforms (i.e., AI/ML, Storage, Networking) and backend systems.
