Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in communications, including external and executive communications, with experience in the enterprise technology or semiconductor industry.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in the cloud computing or enterprise technology space.
  • Experience working with the press or social media.
  • Experience working on events and projects that require cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to think and develop creative communications strategies that drive results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

About the job

As a member of the Google Cloud Communications team, you will collaborate with other cross-functional teams to communicate with journalists and thought leaders, develop specific communications materials and devise thought leadership campaigns. You'll understand the power of Google’s Cloud products and tell the story of how we help our customers innovate. You'll engage in face-to-face meetings with internal executives and external opinion formers, and develop print and web-based materials supporting these campaigns.

As a key member of the Google Cloud Communications team, the External, Internal and Executive Communications Manager will be responsible for defining and executing a holistic internal and external communications strategy covering product PR, external media and influencer relations, and an always-on social strategy to drive awareness and excitement for Google Cloud's Compute portfolio and AI Infrastructure offerings. In this role, you will lead internal and executive communications for executive leadership, including writing speeches and developing employee communication strategies for the AI and Computing Infrastructure (ACI) organization.It's our job to help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. To succeed here, you'll combine creativity with organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously, as well as enjoy pitching to journalists, bloggers and commentators, or producing internal communications and events for our employees. Things happen quickly at Google and to get stuff done here you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally and isn't hesitant to take risks or try new things.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead primary communications for the traditional compute and AI Infrastructure portfolio (GPUs, CPUs, and the AI Hypercomputer) by driving strategy and managing PR co-ordination with key partners like NVIDIA, Arm, Intel, and AMD.
  • Build individual thought leadership platforms for executive product leaders through press interviews, speaking engagements, and social content in close partnership.
  • Cultivate close, productive relationships with journalists, key partners, and influential creators across traditional and new media to drive awareness and excitement around AI and compute products.
  • Develop, write, and edit high-level communications while also owning the internal communications strategy for the organization.
  • Advise to executives on communications and influence executive decision-making, while collaborating with internal teams to refine and drive an always-on social media strategy focused on AI communities.
