Minimum qualifications:

Discover is a personalized recommendation feed that provides users with relevant and meaningful information based on their interests and our understanding of the world’s information. Our mission is to help users find answers to their questions, but also to proactively enable users to discover new information, stay up-to-date on what matters to them and expand their knowledge.

Our role in Discover Data Science is to partner cross-functionally to solve the mission with a data-informed strategy, identifying opportunities and accelerating execution. The Discover DS Personalization and Quality team is a group of data scientists who work closely with engineers, product managers, and UX researchers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with large, complex data sets and solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Google data structures and metrics, advocating for changes where needed for both product development and business strategy.
  • Define metrics and measurement techniques, assessing applicability and making recommendations on the use of these techniques and on the interpretation of results. 
  • Interact cross-functionally with SWE, PM, and UXR partners. Work closely with engineers to identify opportunities for design and assess improvements to our products.
  • Make business recommendations with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.
