Android XR Head, Technical Partner Management

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering Management, or Partner Management in the semiconductor or consumer electronics industry.
  • 7 years of experience in leadership role(s) with direct reports.
  • Experience in the Qualcomm ecosystem, including SoC, the Android software stack and supporting OEMs to launch devices.
  • Experience managing cross-company technical programs involving hardware/software co-design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in XR Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), mobile, or wearables ecosystems.
  • Experience managing executive relationships and negotiating technical trade-offs between partner organizations.
  • Understanding of the chip design language (e.g., IP blocks, thermal constraints, power envelopes) and ability translate that into software requirements.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive consensus across engineering teams (Core Tech, Platform Software (SW), Hardware (HW) Network Threat Intelligence (NTI)).

About the job

The Android Extended Reality Ecosystem (AXRE) team is the engine responsible for accelerating the mass adoption of spatial computing. To win, software and silicon must evolve as one. We are looking for a strategic technical leader to architect and operate the governance of our most critical alliance: the partnership between Google and Qualcomm.

As the Head of Technical Partner Management, you will not just track status; you will drive the operational rhythm of the entire ecosystem. You will serve as the primary bridge between Google’s Android Extended Reality (XR) engineering teams (Core Tech, Platform, NextGen) and product/program management and Qualcomm’s silicon and software organizations. You will be partnering, and ensuring that our joint roadmap translates into execution velocity, resolving technical bottlenecks, and managing executive stakeholders to unlock the full potential of Android XR.

Google's XR team is at the forefront of the next major leap – the convergence of AI and XR. This is more than just new devices – it's about reimagining how we interact with the world around us. We're building a future where lightweight XR devices pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the operational framework for our primary silicon partnership, manage alignment through joint product councils and quarterly executive business reviews.
  • Serve as the primary bridge between leadership teams, establishing "Rules of Engagement" that harmonize operations and cultural velocity between software-first and silicon-first environments.
  • Direct critical workstreams across goals, silicon architecture, and platform readiness, ensure synchronization between silicon designs, software deliverables, and lead Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) launches.
  • Oversee the joint Product Development Process (PDP) for next-generation reference designs, proactively mitigating risks in advanced technical areas such as split-compute architectures.
  • Standardize and implement a scalable, "low-touch" engagement model to accelerate OEM adoption, streamlining processes for code access, technical support, and issue resolution.
