Engineering Project Specialist, General Hardware Development

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 2 years of experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), or Joint Development Manufacturers (JDMs) during New Product Introduction (NPI) phases.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with hardware development lifecycles, manufacturing processes, and vendor relations.
  • Knowledge of BOM structures and change control.
  • Ability to manage complex spreadsheets, prioritize multiple tasks, and apply investigative thinking to solve problems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fluid environment, quickly adapting to changes and proactively overcoming challenges as they arise.
  • Ability to lead, drive meetings, lead strategic initiatives, and guide teams toward project milestones.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate across various teams, job functions, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define, manage and build matrix configurations for New Product Introduction (NPI) cycles, collaborate with Engineering and reliability teams to ensure all validation and testing requirements are met.
  • Oversee comprehensive material plans and mitigate availability risks, while managing purchase orders and coordinating material drives to ensure timely delivery to manufacturers.
  • Plan and optimize the allocation of engineering development devices across various teams (validation, qualification, product testing), ensure needs are balanced against budget constraints.
  • Drive packout readiness and manage shipping logistics, including trade compliance and shipment tracking, to ensure devices reach their final destinations on schedule.
  • Act as the primary bridge between internal engineering teams and external manufacturers, providing build support (on-site or remote) and develop SOPs to improve process efficiency.
