About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you'll be managing project operations from initial build through to ramp. This role places you at the forefront of operations communication with cross-functional teams, directly impacting new product development. With an understanding of Contract Manufacturing (CM) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) environments, you will inspire and lead a team to uphold the highest product design and build standards.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Manage factory test stations from conceptualization to sustaining, serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external teams while overseeing test readiness, risks, and communication.
  • Develop and optimize test strategies across the entire production line, including simultaneous multithreading, sub-assembly, and Final Assembly, Test, Pack (FATP) processes.
  • Drive yield, retest, and general test issues for the test line.
  • Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) on test processes, fixture readiness, cycle time, and line balance, while managing schedules and planning for all test engineering deliverables.
  • Partner with suppliers and engineering teams to develop comprehensive test coverage, assessing process flow, equipment/fixture designs, process controls, implementation schedules, and validation plans before any engineering build.
