Vendor Manager, Business Development, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in vendor management, operations or business management.
  • 7 years of experience using analytics or applying project management tools.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing vendor operations and working with globally managed service providers.
  • Experience setting and driving vendor strategy, process improvement, contracting, commercial negotiations, and working with dashboards and data.
  • Ability to successfully work and influence across multiple levels of the organization and regions.
  • Ability to define projects, execute within timelines and navigate ambiguity.
  • Ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities and stakeholder issues/requirements, driving pragmatic decisions/actions to deliver continuous improvement across operations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, project management and strategic thinking skills.

About the job

In this role, you will play a key role in the Japan and Asia Pacific (JAPAC) Business Development sales organization and as part of the Customer Experience organisation. You will be part of a high performing management team and lead the business development sales across the Corporate segment. You will direct the trusted regional Suppliers to deliver exceptional business results through Vendor reps, while ensuring an outstanding experience to customers and prospects. Your work will be critical so that the organization as a whole can meet or exceed the sales and growth targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regular business reviews, using data-driven insights to ensure vendors meet and exceed performance targets (e.g., SLAs, Quality).
  • Identify operational gaps and design scaled workflows to continuously improve service quality and efficiency while reducing costs.
  • Oversee day-to-day service operations, including vendor selection, forecasting, contract management, and budget planning.
  • Act as the primary escalation point of contact for all vendor-related performance and relationship issues, partner with internal teams to find solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to manage complex projects and overcome operational challenges from concept to launch.
