Hardware Manufacturing Test Engineer, Google Beam

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in hardware engineering or test engineering in manufacturing.
  • 3 years of experience with camera testing methodologies.
  • 3 years of experience in driving improvement of test systems and processes to enhance efficiency and manufacturability.
  • 3 years of experience with Linux OS.
  • Experience with coding in Python, and Shell scripting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related engineering field.
  • Experience with camera extrinsic and intrinsic calibration processes.
  • Experience with troubleshooting manufacturing issues collaboratively with the engineering team.
  • Experience with new technologies, such as automation or data analytics, to enhance manufacturing tests in efficiency or cost reductions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Build software and automation scripts, necessary for factory deployment.
  • Interface with hardware and software (platform/algorithms) teams to determine optimal test coverage and calibration sequences.
  • Define Standard Operating Procedure for factory test and calibrations stations which includes detailed description of equipment, setup, procedure, exception troubleshooting etc.
  • Ensure processes at factory test and calibration stations including validated fixtures are reliable and repeatable, along with the ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Provide support throughout the hardware build to ensure test and calibration infrastructure is working well.
