About the job

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

As a Global Lead you will drive the design, delivery, and integration of physical security infrastructure across Google's global data center fleet. You will require managing a multi-disciplinary organization responsible for large-scale security system programs, new technology introductions (NPI), global design standards, and deployment excellence across both owned and third-party facilities. You will be ensuring security-ready capacity for the rapid growth of Google's Technical Infrastructure.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Build and grow a high-performing, multi-faceted global organization responsible for the end-to-end delivery and program management of physical security systems for all new data center capacity.
  • Direct the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for security technologies and establish global design standards and specifications to ensure consistent, high-quality, and scalable deployment.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of security systems across the third-party data center portfolio, ensuring regulatory compliance and aligning external partners with global security policies.
  • Advocate high-impact initiatives to improve capital efficiency and reduce OpEx through strategic vendor negotiations and system redesigns, while securing crucial stakeholder buy-in for strategic priorities.
