Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or compliance field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in information security, data access management, data protection or compliance related roles.
  • 8 years of experience in strategy or technical consulting in a changing environment.
  • Experience in end-to-end strategy, implementation, navigating business structures while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Experience with project management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technical, consulting, or compliance field.
  • Experience executing initiatives or projects in a changing global environment.
  • Experience managing ambiguity across a variety of contexts, with the ability to challenge the status quo and a propensity to action and managing access to data assets through access control lists and related controls.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements, designs, documentation and configure access paths to data resources using access infrastructure (e.g., Ganpati, Sphinx, DSF or similar systems).
  • Ability to work separately or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.

As a part of the Compliance, Standards, and Integrity (CSI) team, you will be formulating risk-based strategies and comprehensive solutions for the effective management of employment-related risks.

As a Workforce Data Security Manager, you will oversee the advancement of our People Operations Data Access Management (POpsDAM) program, ensuring our data security and access strategy aligns seamlessly with enterprise access architecture roadmaps and overarching compliance objectives. In this role, you will be required to create and implement a long-term goal for workforce data access, adeptly accommodating significant business transformations and rollout of access solutions to support an AI-enabled people function. You will actively collaborate with various cross-functional business and technical teams, designing and building secure access infrastructure and controls that responsibly facilitate AI-driven innovations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $158,000-$235,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Leverage subject matter expertise to design and execute effective information security and data access management strategies.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders for major compliance programs and areas across people operations and Alphabet/Google.
  • Assess, design and implement data access solutions that enable least-privilege access principles for complex business initiatives in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and own communication plans to communicate compliance program status, issues, and risks effectively and proactively. Exercise excellent people skills by managing stakeholder relationships across Google/Alphabet.
  • Define and track key metrics and key quality and performance indicators and drive cross functional awareness of program deliverables. Understand cross-functional process and infrastructure dependencies, risks, and changes to guide improvements of mitigation strategies and resourcing.
