Strategic Partner Development Manager, Geo

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • 3 years of experience with cross-functional, global partner and program management, including managing multi-stakeholder projects on fixed timelines.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA degree.
  • Experience in business development, partnerships, product management, general management, or sales.
  • Experience with legal documents and working with attorneys on specific agreement language.
  • Knowledge of negotiating/managing partnerships.
  • Ability to develop in a fast-paced, fluid, collaborative environment and identify partnership opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with attention to detail.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

In this role, you will work alongside the Geo Makers Product team based in Bengaluru and conclude trusted tester agreements with partners to validate product market fit for Geo Makers incubation. You will also provide well considered Point of View (POV) on the direction of Geo Makers products, particularly with regard to adoption in india and other emerging APAC markets, and provide guidance on channels once General Availability (GA) is achieved and will be collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to determine market needs, help shape our product and go-to-market strategy, lead cross-functional teams to source, negotiate, and execute first-of-kind agreements for Google, and build/manage relationships with some of Google’s most partners.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product partnerships, trusted tester agreements, and alliances from concept to launch to ongoing partner management.
  • Partner closely with products and other cross-functional teams to validate product market fit and developer/user value. 
  • Contribute to the identification, creation, negotiation, and implementation of effective agreements that drive results for Google (e.g., partnership agreements, bilateral agreements).
  • Plan and execute prioritized project work, selecting appropriate methods to effectively achieve project objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging data sources, and the competitive landscape. Provide input to Geo and products to help shape product strategy and roadmaps.
